Rūnanga School is home to two vibrant, multi-level classes that foster a strong sense of community and peer learning. Coal Creek is our junior class, welcoming tamariki from Year 0 through to Year 4. In this nurturing environment, our youngest learners build foundational skills while benefiting from the support and modeling of their older classmates.
Tasman is our senior class, supporting students in Years 5 to 8. Here, our older students develop independence, leadership skills, and deeper learning as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. Our multi-age classroom structure encourages tuakana-teina relationships, where older students mentor younger ones, creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment that reflects the close-knit nature of our school community.
